WELCOME ...

... to the second QACL Digital Literacy workshop. The aim is to get more creatively involved with our digital world.

For adults the possibilities of new technology are often overwhelming. In particular the way data is harvested and security is compromised make it unsettling to make use of this technology. The workshops aims to understand the technology a bit better by working/playing with it.

For kids it is estimated that two-thirds of today’s elementary-school kids will be involved in work which currently does not exist. These rapid changes are a challenge to school curricula and for the staff preparing our kids for their future. At the same time any person in future, be it a Hockey-player, actor, artist, heavy machine operator to politician will benefit from a better understanding of their digital surrounding.

Above all this workshop aims to be fun, it does NOT advocate for technology or aims to turn kids or adults into programmers. It is just about reflecting and understanding.
